TMD, or Temporomandibular joint disorder, is an umbrella term covering acute or chronic inflammation and other problems of the temporomandibular joint, which connects the lower jaw to the skull. Those with TMD experience jaw joint pain, clicks, jaw clenching, teeth grinding, headaches or tooth wear. Depending on the cause of any one individual’s case of TMD, a bite-guard may alleviate the symptoms associated with TMD. |
