Veneers are very thin pieces of porcelain which fit directly over the outside surface of existing teeth. Veneers correct discolored teeth, small and large gaps between teeth, and some crooked teeth. They are the best and most effective way to achieve a perfect and even smile. Teeth are prepared by filing away a small amount of the surface of the natural teeth so that after veneers are placed the teeth will not appear too thick or bulky. The porcelain veneer is then cemented to the natural tooth. Porcelain veneers are more expensive than the alternative of tooth bonding, but are also much more durable.
